THE ART CAMP - WINTER EDITION
After the 25-hour flight from Bali to Paris, the eight-hour drive + 2 hours stuck in the trafic, we finally arrived at the DC Shoes Chalet in Tignes for a week-long residency curated by Lucas Beaufort: “The Art Camp”.
This event was sponsored by DC Shoes Snowboard and Eastpak France.
Our first morning in Tignes, we woke up to 30cm of snow blanketing the ground and the slopes. Snow has a way of quieting everything, even slowing down time. It helped me draw my attention to the smaller details like a snow flakes and their slow movement.
I knew that the residency would provide me the space to reconsider some aspects of my painting practice and to get our of my confort zone by painting with other artists with different styles and lifestyles.
Après 25 heures de vol entre Bali et Paris, 8 heures de route + 2 heures dans les embouteillages, nous sommes finalement arrivés au chalet DC Shoes à Tignes pour une résidence d'une semaine organisée par Lucas Beaufort : "The Art Camp".

Notre premier matin à Tignes, nous nous sommes réveillés avec 30 cm de neige recouvrant le sol et les pistes. La neige a une façon de tout apaiser, même de ralentir le temps. Elle m'a permis d'attirer mon attention sur les petits détails, comme les flocons de neige et leur lent mouvement.
Je savais que la résidence me donnerait l'occasion de reconsidérer certains aspects de ma pratique de la peinture et de sortie de ma zone de confort en peignant avec d’autres artistes aux styles et philosophies différentes.

Before coming to Tignes, I had planned to paint on two snowboards. Those plans changed when Lucas told us we had a snowboard, a skateboard and a bag to paint on. So I had to rethink my strategy and decided to let the inspiration of the mountains guide my art practice throughout the week.
Mornings often began with several cups of tea, mountain observation and painting our boards. In the afternoon, we enjoyed the mountains and rode almost every day. What a joy to be back on a snowboard and get that feeling of freedom of movement in the wide white landscape.
Here are some pictures of this one of a kind experience, looking forward to be painting with other artists and share all our joys, doubts, fears, dreams together.
Avant de venir à Tignes, j'avais prévu de peindre sur deux snowboards. Ces plans ont changé lorsque Lucas nous a dit que nous avions un snowboard, un skateboard et un sac à peindre. J'ai donc dû repenser ma stratégie et j'ai décidé de laisser l'inspiration des montagnes guider ma pratique artistique pendant toute la semaine.
Les matinées commençaient souvent par plusieurs tasses de thé, l'observation des montagnes et la peinture de nos planches. L'après-midi, nous profitions des montagnes et nous avons ridé presque tous les jours. Quel bonheur d'être de retour sur un snowboard et de sentir cette sensation de liberté de mouvement dans ce vaste paysage blanc.
